1. Honeybees can be used to detect explosives.

Everyone has heard of dogs on a bomb squad, but un-bee-knownst to most people, honeybees have just as keen a sense of smell. After all, bees are able to track the faint scent of pollen on the wind all the way to a flower! These tiny sniffers are trained in bomb detection by being exposed to the odors of common explosive ingredients. Whenever they flick their proboscises (mouth parts) correctly, they are rewarded with sugar water!

For the real deal, the bees are strapped to small tubes inside a box. They are then placed inside the area in question, and a video camera equipped with pattern recognition software detects any proboscis motion.

2. In Spain Prostitutes  have to wear reflective vests (like highway workers) to reduce traffic accidents.

Police claim the prostitutes are violating traffic laws and are posing a danger to drivers. If they are caught walking on the highway or on the shoulder without a fluorescent vest on, they will have to pay a 40 euro fine.

Lil Wayne's Release From Prison Nearly Delayed

The celebration were nearly put on hold when Rikers officials said Wayne had another day to serve

Lil Wayne was not getting out of prison just yet. Family, friends and fans who had November 4 circled on their calendar were going to have to wait another day after a little mismanagement.

“His time was miscalculated. He owed, he owes one day of ‘good time,’ so it’s gonna be another night,” Officer Carl Carabello told MTV News who were stationed outside Rikers awaiting Weezy's release. Carabello added that “good time” is reduced when an inmate runs into trouble behind bars. “If you get an infraction in jail, they’ll take away ‘good time’ — time that you accumulated for good behavior.”

There was no word what his infraction was that would cause him to serve an additional day.

However, four hours later at 8:35am MTV was informed the Cash Money Millionaire had been discharged and is now a free man. Mack Maine says the plan is party in Miami this weekend.

"It's gonna be crazy. We have a private party first and then we going to King of Diamonds after, which is a strip club. It's going to be crazy, it's going to be real elegant, extravagant, we gonna party like when Frank came home, like [the movie] 'King of New York,' " said Maine. "It should be a lot of beautiful women, just ... beautiful scenery. Just treat him like a king, like the royalty that he is and make him feel like we really missed him and welcome him back to the family, basically."

As I greet you all in my last days on this island, I must reflect. I think back to when I first arrived and I had no clue of what I’d be experiencing. I was never scared, worried, nor bothered by the situation. For that, I thank God, my family, and you, my amazing fans. I prayed for you all every night, as I’m aware that I was in your prayers as well. The very first day that I received mail, it was about 300 pieces or more! I smiled like a child of Christmas. But when I began to read them, my heart smiled. I laughed with some of you, reasoned with some of you, and even cried with some of you. I responded to as many of you that time would allow. I plan to keep reading and responding after my release. I thank you all for being so very supportive, as I never imagined how much impact my words and life can have. With this knowledge, I vow to continue to be me! For you have assured time that I don’t have to change for no one but God. I will be the same Martian I was when I left, just better. I sometimes talk to the picture, but it never responds.
