9 people killed ina flood of beer in 1814

A rupture in a brewery tank in London containing 3,500 barrels of beer caused a massive beer flood in St. Giles. Nine people died, and 2 houses were destroyed.

Similarly, a flood from a molasses tank in Boston in 1919 caused 21 people. People die in really weird.

Huddle formation which used in football, came from deaf football players.

Paul Hubbard, the quarterback for Gallaudet University (a university for the deaf and hard of hearing in Washington, D.C.) came up with the huddle in the 1940s. The purpose was to prevent other teams from reading their sign language when they're discussing plays. It caught on, and the huddle is being used in NFL games to this day.
